Sustainability
looking after our environment
As custodians of 700 acres of Suffolk countryside at Bruisyard Country Estate, and more through our other business interests, we are committed to sustainability and take our responsibilities to the land around us seriously. Sustainability is woven into every aspect of our operations, from the farm to the table, ensuring a greener future for generations to come.
We generate much of our energy through renewable methods including biomass and solar panels, reducing our carbon footprint, and we’ve had charging points for electric vehicles available at Bruisyard for many years.
Our chefs include as much local and seasonal produce in their menus, much of it from our farm, such as wild garlic from our woodlands, grass-fed Red Poll beef and venison from wild deer. This reduces food miles to food metres, and has the added benefit of tasting amazing!
Then all food waste from weddings and other events is turned into compost for our fields, ensuring nothing is wasted.
Part of our business is Dennington Hall Farms where we proudly farm wild-farmed cereals, emphasising regenerative agriculture to enrich the soil and promote biodiversity. And our woodland projects including tree planting and the Turtle Dove Project with Restore, are preserving wildlife and restoring the local eco system. We are actively managing wilding areas to further enhance our environmental stewardship.
