Choosing Live Music for your Wedding Day

WELCOMING GAINSBOROUGH QUARTET

Cal from recommended wedding musicians Gainsborough Quartet joins Bruisyard to share her advice about picking live music for your wedding.

In the midst of wedding planning, have you thought about live wedding music?

We can play as your guests arrive to break the ice, we're a string quartet.  Classical music, Bridgerton style, Disney, you name it......

The Gainsborough Quartet has performed in renowned Suffolk venues such as Snape Maltings, Hintlesham Hall, Bruisyard Country Estate, Easton Grange, and Woodhall Manor, as well as Suffolk County Ball and Aldeburgh Mozartiade.

Other performances include the Spitalfields Festival, High Elms Manor in St Albans, Holkham Hall in Norfolk and Braxted Park, Gaines Park and Gosfield Hall in Essex. They most recently played at the London International Festival of Early Music at Blackheath Halls.

We are all professional musicians playing in Suffolk, London and beyond. Between us we have played for Nigel Kennedy, Yehudi Menuhin, Julian Lloyd Webber, Katherine Jenkins, Michael Parkinson, Jeremy Paxman, Simon Rattle, Jasper Conran, Emma Kirkby, Tony Blair, Hayley Westenra The Queen and Lady Diana Spencer, to name but a few.

Ceremony live music:

  • We ask brides if they'd choose a piece to walk down the aisle to, something grand and ceremonial.

  • Then we ask them to select two gentler pieces for the signing of the register, when things go quiet!

  • And finally, we ask for a piece for the newlyweds to walk back down the aisle; something really uplifting!

Lots of couples book us to play during the drinks too, when they are being whisked away to have their photos taken. Couples often specify which genre of music they'd like, and we can do the rest.

If you're ever stuck for ideas during your ceremony, we can tell you some good pieces that work.

Best of luck with your planning!
